Anderssen & Voll Blurs the Lines Between Home and Public Spaces in “Meantime”
The design of this collection is meant to bridge the gap between homes and businesses, offering a relaxed elegance that still remains functional. One distinctive trait of “Meantime” is its broad yet streamlined armrests, which stretch outwards, mimicking the shape of seating usually found in waiting areas at transportation hubs. This design element pays homage to the transitional spaces where travelers find comfort, seamlessly merging with their surroundings. Torbjørn Anderssen, one of the co-founders, emphasizes the collection’s core, stating that the interplay between the armrests and the sofa’s body serves as the project’s fundamental structure – a domestic adaptation of public furniture features suitable for both residential and commercial settings.
