As a child of the ’90s, I can still remember the delightful adventures of Paddington Bear that warmed our hearts and brought families together. The release of the new trailer for “Paddington in Peru” has me reminiscing about those magical moments spent with this loveable bear and his family.
A new trailer for Paddington in Peru has been released.
In its third outing within the Paddington series, our beloved character, voiced by Ben Whishaw and named Paddington Brown, travels to Peru in search of his aunt, Aunt Lucy (Imelda Staunton). After Aunt Lucy sets off on an adventure deep into the rainforest, Paddington embarks on a quest of his own to locate her.

For the third time, Whishaw lends his voice to the lovable bear character. In this new installment set in Peru, we have Hugh Bonneville playing Henry Brown, Emily Mortimer portraying Mary Brown, Madeleine Harris as Judy Brown, Samuel Joslin as Jonathan Brown, Carla Tous as Gina Cabot, Julie Walters as Mrs. Bird, Jim Broadbent as Samuel Gruber, Olivia Colman as The Reverend Mother, Antonio Banderas as Hunter Cabot, and Stanton as Aunt Lucy.
In Paddington 3, the role of the director goes to Dougal Wilson, working from a script penned by Mark Burton, Jon Foster, and James Lamont. Paul King, who helmed the first two Paddington movies, shares a story credit for “Paddington in Peru” with Simon Farnaby and Burton. The character of Paddington originates from the popular children’s books written by Michael Bond.
In 2014, I got hooked on the hilarious live-action adaptation of everyone’s favorite Peruvian bear, Paddington! It turned out to be a massive hit, raking in over $282 million at the box office, all while only costing around $65 million to produce. What a successful debut for our beloved friend from Darkest Peru!
In 2017, the follow-up film to Paddington, titled Paddington 2, was another box office hit, earning $227 million while only costing $40 million to produce. For four years, it enjoyed near-unanimous praise and maintained a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Notably, Paddington 2 garnered three BAFTA nominations: Outstanding British Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor for Hugh Grant.
In the United Kingdom, Paddington Bear from Peru will make his theater debut on November 8, 2024. Unfortunately for American fans, they’ll have to hold their excitement until January 17, 2025, to catch Paddington on the big screen in their cinemas.
