What’s new in Season 12
In the last Overwatch 2 season, we saw an exciting partnership with Transformers and a significant update centered around map improvements. For the upcoming season, here’s a sneak peek at what you can anticipate:
- New hero Juno the Space Ranger
- Hero balancing updates
- A brand-new battle pass
New hero Juno the Space Ranger
As a long-time gamer with countless hours spent in multiplayer battles, I can confidently say that Juno is a game-changer among support heroes. Her unique abilities offer both utility and versatility that make her an essential addition to any team.
Hero balancing updates
With the significant boost given to tanks in the last season, it’s likely that the upcoming season will make adjustments to even out the playing field for other heroes. Potential tweaks may result from the shift back to the classic 6v6 Overwatch setup. A possible modification is on the horizon for Reaper, as indicated by Overwatch 2’s Lead hero designer Alec Dawson in previous discussions. However, this rework isn’t predicted to be as drastic as Season 9’s competitive overhaul.
A brand-new battle pass
In keeping with tradition, Season 12 will introduce a fresh Reward Pass featuring attractive cosmetics and other desirable items as incentives for participating in matches and amassing experience points. A Mythic skin is anticipated, though the lucky hero graced with this exclusive upgrade remains to be seen.
Will Season 12 have the Clash mode and Hanaoka map?
1. Option: In previous instances, Clash mode was accessible through a restricted trial period; however, it’s not certain if it will be included in Season 12 at this time. The Hanaoka map, which is set to debut concurrently, would complement Clash well. As for Overwatch 2, we can expect the return of 6v6 combat, although no exact timeline has been given yet. In response to community requests, game director Aaron Keller confirmed that they’re planning on reintroducing different variations of 6v6 gameplay. It’s possible that a temporary test could be rolled out sooner, but the team is still examining how long it might take to enhance the overall performance of the game permanently.
