As a seasoned Overwatch gamer with countless hours spent in the virtual battlegrounds of this iconic game, I eagerly anticipate the arrival of Season 12! The prospect of a new hero, Juno, hailing from Mars, is particularly intriguing, especially considering her Mediblaster’s dual purpose and her Martian Overboots’ mobility features.
Overwatch 2‘s upcoming season, Season 12, is just around the corner, with Blizzard Entertainment gradually unveiling what fans can anticipate. A week from now, they’ll be releasing all the details about the new features in store for players. This includes the introduction of a fresh hero character and an innovative approach to gameplay.
For those who didn’t catch Juno’s first appearance, the latest Overwatch 2 support character originates from Mars. Her Mediblaster has a double function – it harms opponents and heals allies. Her secondary fire discharges Pulsar Torpedoes, causing damage while simultaneously healing teammates over time. She also boasts some extraordinary mobility, utilizing her Martian Overboots for a passive double jump and hover, a Glide Boost that increases her speed, and Hyper Ring to accelerate the speed of allies. Her Ultimate ability unleashes an Orbital Ray, which moves forward at a steady pace, dealing substantial damage to enemies while healing teammates along its path.
As a thrilled fan, I’m excited to share that alongside Juno, we can anticipate the comeback of the Clash mode! Initially, Blizzard introduced Clash in a test phase. After several months of refining and improvements, this engaging game mode is here to stay! The essence of Clash lies in battling across various capture points, starting from a central point and then expanding outwards.
To kick-start Clash, search for two fresh maps. The Temple of Anubis, a reinterpretation of an iconic location from the original Overwatch, includes additional landmarks of interest. On the other hand, Shiramura Castle guides players through Hanaoka’s streets, providing opportunities for battles on the roads or across adjacent rooftops.
Updates for Overwatch 2 will continue during Season 12, featuring a significant balance adjustment focusing on heroes with higher mobility who may receive toning down (nerfs). It’s intriguing to note that characters such as Juno might fall under this category. Furthermore, Blizzard plans to introduce mid-year enhancements for the Competitive mode, aiming to refine aspects like Avoid as Teammate and Group Respawn for a better player experience.
Further information about the upcoming season of Overwatch 2 is available on the official Overwatch 2 site. The new season is set to debut on August 20th (Tuesday).
