Our F1 Miami Premium Experience Had High Style, High Speeds and Lots of Hydration

During the Formula One weekend in Miami, it transforms into a vibrant melting pot of culture. The paddock turns into a catwalk, filled with the rumble of engines and carefully selected music, while everyone seems to be dressed for potential social media highlights. With an invite from Liquid I.V., we got a bird’s eye view of this madness—quite literally. Stationed above the track at the Race House, we found respite in shade, delightful non-alcoholic drinks, and a crowd that was on point: staying alert, looking stylish, and keeping pace with the 200 mph action while ensuring they stayed hydrated.

For the first time ever, I attended the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix in person as an enthusiast, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The race weekend was filled with everything you’d imagine from a South Florida event: scorching heat, sudden downpours, and an electrified crowd that matched the excitement of the celebrity guest list. While the main attraction was undoubtedly on the track, the off-track F1 experience was just as captivating. The circuit buzzed with celebrities like Timothée Chalamet and Lisa and Simone Ashley, not to mention some stylish outfits that made it feel like a fusion of global fashion week and a music festival, all fueled by the thunderous sound of million-dollar engines. Brand activations were omnipresent, and with so much happening simultaneously, the sensory overload was intense.

In Miami, several well-known fashion brands made a strong appearance, with some of our preferred labels participating vigorously. The revamped adidas x Mercedes-AMG Petronas partnership showcased a South Beach pop-up and a collection designed for racing time, boasting mangrove-inspired graphics on jerseys and an elegant fan range. Puma unveiled three distinct Scuderia Ferrari collections: retro T-shirts, Speedcat sneakers, and a limited edition drop inspired by Ferrari’s Miami GP livery. Levi’s joined the fray as well, hosting a Grand Prix-themed event at its Aventura store, where customers could get live customizations from Miami-based artist Alex Yanes. Taken together, it demonstrated that in Miami, the excitement of fashion competitions is just as intense as the races themselves.

At Liquid I.V. Race House, everyone was buzzing with excitement as familiar figures and high-quality refreshments filled the venue. The attendees arrived in their finest attire, creating a mix of personalities ranging from racing stars like Alex Albon and Guenther Steiner (former Haas principal) to upcoming talent such as Bianca Bustamante, entertainer Rickey Thompson, De’Von Achane (Dolphins running back), and Lindsay Brewer (model-racer). With races, celebrity spotting, and endless walking, the tempo picked up quickly. As there was still plenty more to experience—practice sessions, sprints, qualifying rounds, and the main race—maintaining energy levels became crucial.

It was fortunate that The Race House provided us with hydration backed by scientific research. As Dana Ryan, Senior Director of Scientific Affairs at Liquid I.V., pointed out, people often wait until they feel extremely thirsty to drink, but dehydration can occur long before this. In a setting like Miami during an F1 race, with constant heat and humidity, one may lose fluids unknowingly throughout the day. That feeling of afternoon fatigue or confusion might actually be due to dehydration.

We heeded her words sincerely, and with refreshing options such as Lemon Lime and Strawberry Lemonade at our disposal, we remained calm, well-hydrated, and prepared for whatever the weekend might bring our way.

To gain a deeper insight, we delved into the scientific aspects that underpin this product. Ryan elaborated that Liquid I.V. is based on what they term as hydro-science, which essentially means understanding how all its components work synergistically. The research indicates it hydrates quicker and maintains hydration for approximately four hours longer compared to water alone. At an event like the F1 Miami, this extended effectiveness proves crucial; you wouldn’t want to miss the thrilling end due to long waits at restrooms.

The evidence confirms it: F1 racers may shed four to eight pounds of water weight during a race as a result of both heat and G-force. This is why our collaboration with Formula 1 seems perfectly fitting,” said Stacey Andrade-Wells, Liquid I.V.’s CMO. “It emphasizes the necessity of quick hydration—not only for drivers but also for pit crews and spectators who endure intense heat conditions.

The Miami Grand Prix on Crypto.com’s Formula 1 circuit was undeniably one of the sport’s most glamorous destinations, and this year did not disappoint in merging sport, culture, and entertainment. Performances by Kaskade, Sofi Tukker, and Pitbull created a vibe reminiscent of a music festival, while the race retained its championship-level finesse. The Liquid I.V. Race House served as the perfect hub for this harmonious blend of sport, health, and enjoyment, ensuring that the event flowed smoothly from start to finish.
