In episode 3 of Oshi no Ko season 2 titled “Adaptation,” Ruby expresses concern over Aqua’s absence and sets out to find her. The narrative shifts to a scene showing Aqua and Akane on a theater date. During the performance, Aqua gains knowledge about the unique circular stage design. After discussing this with Raida, Aqua concludes that Abiko may not be skilled enough to pen a script for such an intricate production. Consequently, Aqua decides it’s necessary to request a meeting with Kichijouji, asking her to approach Abiko regarding reassigning GOA as the play’s scriptwriter instead.
I can relate to Abiko’s disappointment when Sweet Today’s adaptation didn’t turn out as we had hoped. Kichijouji understands how I feel and respects my decision not to discuss the script any further. Instead, she offers me a circular stage play ticket from Aqua as a gesture of support.
I was excitedly making my way to Abiko’s place in search of the elusive Tokyo Blade author. Upon arrival, I found them in a state of disarray, struggling to meet their deadline. Luckily, we collaborated to help Abiko get back on track. But as we worked side by side, our creative differences ignited an intense argument. The raw emotions unleashed revealed the harsh realities and brutal competition within the manga industry.
After sending off her chapter, Abiko expresses remorse for her harshly spoken words. With tears streaming down her face, she laments the disappointment she felt when Sweet Today, her cherished manga, didn’t live up to her expectations after being adapted. Kichijouji empathizes and offers Abiko a stage play ticket from Aqua as a distraction, encouraging her to attend the performance instead.
