OPPO Find N5 Breaks Records as the World’s Thinnest Foldable Phone

OPPO has introduced the Find N5, now recognized as the world’s slimmest foldable phone. Its folded width is merely 8.93mm, marking a significant advancement in foldable design, surpassing its forerunners. When unfolded, it thins out to 4.21mm at its narrowest part, providing a slim, almost paper-thin appearance that reshapes the expectations of foldable device users.

This device boasts an incredibly sleek build without sacrificing performance. Equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it packs a punch with 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage, making it a power-packed machine in spite of its slender figure. The substantial 5,600 mAh battery ensures ample power for two full days on a single charge, while offering both 80W wired and 50W wireless charging options.

OPPO pays close attention to the quality of its screens, as evidenced by its main foldable screen, which is an impressive 8.12-inch OLED LTPO display that boasts nearly invisible creases for a superior reading and browsing experience. Additionally, the external screen offers a generous 6.62 inches and can reach a peak brightness of 2,450 nits, ensuring excellent visibility under even the strongest sunlight.

Regarding its durability, the Find N5 boasts IPX6, X8, and X9 water resistance ratings, but it’s not built for protection against dust. Oppo has focused on enhancing the hinge and minimizing the display crease, making the fold line less conspicuous while navigating through content.

The camera arrangement boasts a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, both optimized by Hasselblad, ensuring outstanding image clarity. Meanwhile, the 8-megapixel front camera excels at capturing impressive selfies, whether the device is folded or unfolded.

Starting February 28, the Find N5 is scheduled to debut both in physical stores and online platforms across Europe and Asia, with its price starting at approximately $1,867 USD (or SGD 2,499). Regrettably, at this time, there are no plans for a U.S. release, as OPPO’s sister brand, OnePlus, has announced that they won’t be launching a foldable phone in 2023.
