2025 has seen a scorching start for Valorant, with Riot Games altering their plans for the rest of the year. In January alone, they introduced a fresh playable character named Tejo. And guess what? Another new playable character is gearing up to enter the scene. Riot will soon reveal this mystery character, and it’s been announced that the upcoming Valorant Agent 28 has already generated buzz as an overpowered (OP) character due to leaked details online.
New Valorant Agent 28 is “OP”
Top-tier Valorant players and content creators have been hinting at and playfully suggesting the upcoming debut of Agent 28. Previously, it was suggested that her playing style is quite aggressive, and she outperforms Jett, Reyna, and Yoru collectively as a Duelist. Additionally, it was mentioned that no one will opt for Jett after this new character arrives.
Currently, an increasing number of creators are stoking excitement about this individual. Visqm refers to her as “safe,” Snax Gaming calls her a “destroyer,” Arinn thinks she’s “insane,” MintAuka associates her with “speed,” and Johnqt describes her as “disruptive.” However, the most intriguing assessment comes from TenZ who labels her as “OP” (overpowered).
As a diehard Valorant player, I’ve just caught wind of an exciting sneak peek for our upcoming Agent, number 28! The clip reveals the enigmatic Killjoy in slo-mo, only to be abruptly cut short by a gunshot. Fan speculation is rife that this newcomer might pack quite the stun punch, leaving us eagerly anticipating more!
Leaks and everything we know so far
As per recent Valorant updates, it’s been revealed that Agent 28 hails from Thailand. In terms of gameplay, professional players have validated the rumors suggesting that this agent is indeed female and falls under the Duelist category.
Her talents remain unspoiled before her official presentation. Yet, experts have tagged her with speed, leading many to assume that she is a swift/quick-moving Duelist. Moreover, she’s been labeled as both aggressive and overpowering, hinting that she could potentially be Riot’s most formidable Duelist to date.
It’s further thought that her skills might encompass illusions and teleportation, given her codename “Refract” and the prismatic trail depicted in the Prismatic Pathways player card associated with her.
According to Riot Games, fans are invited to watch the “Masters Bangkok Grand Finals” to witness the unveiling of Valorant’s upcoming agent. Afterward, a special match will be played to demonstrate the exciting gameplay of this new character joining the team. The broadcast for the finals begins on March 2 at 5 PM local time (which is 2 AM Pacific Standard Time).
