During a chat with Decider about the approaching finale of Season 4, Hoffman shared that Meryl Streep was captivated by the romantic scene she shared with Martin Short and expressed her gratitude towards him. He recounted to the publication, “One night we were filming on the ferry in Episode 5 of Season 3. We worked until around 2 a.m. on a stunningly beautiful Manhattan night.
Hoffman also remembered that Streep looked quite emotional while waiting for him to finish filming. He shared, “I disembarked there and Meryl was waiting, her eyes filled with tears, and she said, ‘I had to wait here for you to get off the boat just so I could thank you.’ And I replied, ‘What?’ To which she responded, ‘I’ve just been given a chance to perform a scene that I wouldn’t have thought possible.
