A little over a month ago, “Once Upon a Time in Madras” premiered on the big screen, with December 13 being the specific date. This movie was helmed by director Prasadh Murugan and features Bharath and Abhirami as the main characters. Now, this film is poised to make its digital debut.

Starting January 17th, I can’t contain my excitement as I’ll finally be able to stream “Once Upon a Time in Madras” on Aha! They made the announcement themselves on their social media, and let me tell you, I couldn’t help but squeal with joy when I read, “Are you ready?! It’s coming to Aha-land. #OnceUponATimeInMadras Premieres from Jan 17.

Official trailer and plot of Once Upon a Time in Madras

The narrative of “Once Upon a Time in Madras” centers around a firearm that sets off a chain of unfortunate incidents fueled by desperation and aggression. Former military officer Rangaraj unintentionally fires at a youth named Sudharshan and subsequently discards the weapon into the Coovum canal.

In a turn of events, Savitri – a lone parent – discovers a gun and uses it to take the life of Moorthy, a ruthless moneylender who had mistreated her child Aarthi. Simultaneously, Anitha’s father, upon learning about his daughter’s pregnancy, assumes Kathir is the lover involved, and in a moment of mistaken identity, ends Kathir’s life. However, when he later finds out that Kathir was innocent, he is overcome with remorse.

In a dire need for funds for his wife Rachel’s kidney transplant, Raja resorts to taking money from Kowsi, unfortunately resulting in Kowsi’s death. Shockingly, it is later revealed that Kowsi was the intended donor for Rachel. Following Rachel’s tragic demise, Raja conceals a gun within Madhi’s belongings. Unaware of this, Madhi later uses the weapon to eliminate her husband’s abusive in-laws after confronting him about his sexuality and learning of her own pregnancy.

Cast and crew of Once Upon a Time in Madras

In the movie “Once Upon a Time in Madras,” Bharath assumes the character of Raja, with Shaan acting out Kathir. Abhirami portrays Savitri, while Thalaivaasal Vijay embodies Anitha’s father. Rajaji is cast as Jothi, Savitri’s friend, and Pavithra Lakshmi plays the role of Anitha. Anjali Nair takes on Madhi, and PG Saravanan is featured as Moorthy. Kaniha makes an appearance in the film as Kowsi.

Meanwhile, the movie is helmed by Prasadh Murugan and produced by Captain MP Anand.
