Once Human Shrapnel Best Build: Weapons, Mods, Armor, Deviants & Cradle Upgrades

As a seasoned veteran hunter with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the Shrapnel build in Once Human is one of the most effective and rewarding playstyles I’ve come across. And let me tell you, I’ve seen it all – from the early days of Deviant hunting to the latest challenges that the game has thrown at us.

If you’re on the hunt for an optimal Shrapnel build in Once Human, I have just the thing for you! In this article, I’ll walk you through my recommended Once Human Shrapnel build, covering the ideal primary and secondary weapons, armor selections, mods, Deviants, and Cradle upgrades. So sit back and enjoy the read!

As a huge fan of the Shrapnel build in Once Human, I’d say that my go-to weapon is none other than the Golden Scar, or SOCR – The Last Valor. When I land critical hits, this bad boy unleashes even more Shrapnel hits, making it an invaluable addition to my arsenal.

Furthermore, this rifle boasts significant firepower, capable of exceeding 200,000 damage per second (DPS) from a single magazine, making it an excellent choice for the Shrapnel loadout.

Now, regarding the secondary weapon, I suggest going for the Recurve Crossbow FRAG to trigger the Bull’s Eye effect and increase the CRIT Rate%, eventually helping you trigger more Shrapnel hits with The Last Valor.

As a gamer, I’d say: “That being the case, may I employ the AWS.338 Bingo FRAG for the Bull’s Eye enhancement instead? Unfortunately, I can’t do that since the bonus stats from Bingo that amplify Bull’s Eye’s Weakspot damage percentage conflict with The Last Valor’s Shrapnel setup which heavily relies on Crit Rate and Crit Damage.”

Armor

Based on my years of experience in armor selection and having seen countless battles, I strongly suggest going for a complete set of Calibrated Falcon armor. Why, you ask? Let me explain.

  • Rolling Stamina Cost -20%
  • CRIT DMG +15%
  • When Stamina is over 90%, it increases CRIT Rate by 5% and CRIT DMG by 20%.

To achieve the primary objective, focus on acquiring the CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG percentage boosts from the Falcon armor set. For the remaining armor pieces, consider choosing either the “Key Armor” or the “Beret.” The latter is a helmet that adds an extra Shrapnel Hit Part.

Instead of “Or the Key Armor, Earthly Boots, which increases damage against marked enemies by 30%, since you can only wield one Key Armor, opt for the Beret,” you could also say:

For modifying your weapons in this game, I suggest employing the “Targeted Takedown” modification on “The Last Valor” and the “Vulnerability Amplifier” on the “Recurve Crossbow.” If you lack the “Targeted Takedown” mod, feel free to utilize the “Obliterate – Violent” as a temporary alternative until you acquire that specific upgrade.

Regarding the armor modifications, it’s important to select those that markedly enhance your CRIT Rate and CRIT Damage%, like the “First Strike” Legendary Mod which bumps up your CRIT Rate by 10% and CRIT Damage by 20% for a 2-second duration, every time you reload your weapon.

That said, here are the mods that I recommend using on your armor pieces:

  • Helmet: First Move Advantage or Precise Strike
  • Mask: Targeted Strike
  • Gloves: CRIT Boost Violent or Crit Amplifier
  • Chest: Lifeforce Boost or Rejuvenating
  • Pants: Three Strikes or Deadshot
  • Boots: Covered Advance

Here’s my current setup that I use for a mix of Shrapnel + Unstoppable Bomber build:

Best Deviant For Shrapnel Build In Once Human

As a devoted fan of Once Human’s Shrapnel build, I strongly suggest using either the Butterfly’s Emissary or the Lonewolf Whisper for optimal results. The Butterfly’s Emissary is my go-to choice when I want to inflict maximum damage on an enemy’s weak spots. On the other hand, if you prefer to draw aggro away from yourself and enhance your own attack power, then the Lonewolf Whisper is the Deviant for you. Both options are excellent in dealing severe damage to enemies and will significantly improve your gameplay experience.
