The latest period romance drama from Sony Pictures Classics, titled “On Swift Horses,” has unveiled its official trailer. Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones (“Normal People”) and Jacob Elordi (“Euphoria”), the film is set to hit theaters on April 25, 2025, following its world debut at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.

What happens in the On Swift Horses trailer?
In this video, Edgar-Jones portrays Muriel and Elordi plays Julius. They’re involved in clandestine love affairs. Alongside them, we have Will Poulter from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, appearing as Lee; Diego Calva from Babylon, playing Henry; Sasha Calle from The Flash, as Sandra; and Don Swayze as Terence.
In Swift Horses, we follow the story of Muriel and her husband Lee, who have just started a new chapter in California after Lee’s return from the Korean War. However, their peaceful existence is disrupted when Lee’s brother Julius, a captivating gambler with a hidden past, enters the scene. This leads to a tumultuous love triangle as Julius chases after a young card cheat he’s infatuated with. Meanwhile, Muriel’s desire for something beyond her ordinary life leads her to embark on a clandestine journey of her own, betting on horses and discovering a love she never imagined.
According to the 2019 novel by Shannon Pufahl, the movie is being directed by Daniel Minahan (known for “Fellow Travelers”) from a script penned by Bryce Kass. The production company Ley Line, led by Peter Spears, Mollye Asher, Tim Headington, and Theresa Steele Page, is responsible for making this film. Michael D’Alto of FirstGen Content is also producing the movie. Kass, Alvaro Valente, Christine Vachon, Pamela Koffler, Nate Kamiya, David Darby, Randal Sandler, Claude Amadeo, Chris Triana, Jennifer Westphal, and Joe Plummer serve as executive producers.
