As a hardcore fan of true crime stories and someone who grew up during the OJ Simpson trial, I can’t help but be fascinated by this infamous White Ford Bronco. I remember watching the live broadcast of the low-speed chase on television back in 1994, mesmerized as millions of other viewers were. The incident left a lasting impression on me and the world.
In June 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman were tragically stabbed to death outside Nicole’s home in Brentwood, Los Angeles. Suspicion soon fell on Nicole’s ex-husband, OJ Simpson, a former NFL star. Despite being ordered to surrender, OJ drove off in his White Ford Bronco, but was later apprehended by the police. Over the years since that incident, the notorious Bronco has changed hands several times before finding a home in a museum in Tennessee.
Five days following the fatalities of Brown Simpson and Goldman, law enforcement instructed OJ Simpson to give himself up. Instead, he decided to leave in a White Ford Bronco, leading to a slow-paced chase on Southern California’s freeways. According to ABC News, an estimated 95 million people watched the event unfold live on television. Ultimately, Simpson, a former NFL star, turned himself in and was found not guilty during the trial. Subsequently, the car passed through multiple hands. As reported by USA Today, the true owner sold it for $200,000 in 1996. The White Ford Bronco spent years in his possession before making a seldom appearance in Las Vegas in 2012.
Since 2016, the notorious Bronco previously driven by OJ Simpson has made its home at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Tennessee’s Pigeon Forge. According to People Magazine, the vehicle is kept there on loan. It has been a captivating exhibit at the museum ever since.
Where is OJ Simpson’s infamous white Ford Bronco now?
The White Ford Bronco, which is currently exhibited at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Tennessee, was reportedly up for sale in April 2024 according to multiple sources. The car’s two present co-owners, who are friends of OJ Simpson’s former agent, have put it up for sale. CLLCT, a memorabilia website, revealed that they had already received an offer of $750,000 but were hoping to fetch at least $1.5 million in the sale.
