As a long-time fan who has eagerly awaited every twist and turn of the Ocean’s series, the prospect of Ocean’s 14 sends me into a whirlwind of excitement! From Frank Sinatra’s cool charm in the original to the dynamic duo of Clooney and Pitt in Soderbergh’s trilogy, this franchise has consistently delivered heist films that are as stylish as they are entertaining.
Ocean’s 14 may be happening.
Under the guidance of director Lewis Milestone, the film titled Ocean’s 11 premiered in 1960. It featured prominent stars such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Peter Lawford
In the year 2001, Steven Soderbergh re-created the movie, assembling a talented group of actors such as George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Andy García, Casey Affleck, and Carl Reiner among others
After the release of Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven, there were two sequels that he also directed: Ocean’s Twelve in 2004 and Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007. Additionally, a spin-off titled Ocean’s 8 was directed by Gary Ross
Now, the gang might be getting back together for another heist.
Is Ocean’s 14 really happening? What do we know about the potential project?
As per a recent update from Deadline, there seems to be growing excitement surrounding the potential production of Ocean’s Fourteen. It’s anticipated that George Clooney and Brad Pitt will reprise their roles, with Edward Berger being considered as a possible director for the film
According to the Deadline’s report, although Berger hasn’t received an official offer yet (he’s considering several), I believe this project has real potential. Furthermore, I anticipate that Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, and the rest of The Instigators cast will likely be involved in the production as well
Edward Berger has gained significant recognition for his direction of the 2022 film All Quiet on the Western Front, which was a contender for Best Picture at the 95th Academy Awards. His latest production, Conclave, debuted at the Telluride Film Festival and is set to hit U.S. theaters on November 1, 2024, courtesy of Focus Features. Back in December 2023, Clooney hinted that Ocean’s Fourteen might become a reality during an interview with Mike Ryan from Uproxx. He mentioned then, “We have a really solid script for another Ocean’s film now, so we might just make another one. It’s actually a fantastic script.”
