There’s a strong hint that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered could be imminently unveiled in the gaming world, yet despite whispers of release dates and seemingly leaked visuals circulating online, Bethesda has kept mum about this potential new RPG.
It appears that even the official Xbox Support account may be experiencing some confusion, as it has allegedly provided release dates and additional details to individuals who have inquired through direct messaging.
It might appear as though a remastered version of Oblivion has been officially confirmed, but at this point, everything is just speculation and leaks. Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb mentioned that the game exists and is expected to be released unexpectedly next week, which means it could be announced and immediately available for play without any prior announcement.
Yesterday, a deluge of alleged in-game screenshots surfaced, which were purportedly discovered on the website of game developer Virtuos. Subsequently, The Verge’s Tom Warren suggested that the game would be released imminently, hinting at a late April launch date.
Currently, it seems like Xbox Support might be disclosing info ahead of schedule. Several Twitter users have reported that the account is providing new details about the rumored RPG remaster, including its possible release date. If these messages are accurate, the release date could be April 21st, aligning with previous speculations.
Initially, this detail was brought up by @Ser_Raven18 who provided screenshots and a video recording of what appears to be a chat with an Xbox Support representative. In the exchange, it’s suggested that April 21st is the release date for a particular RPG. Additionally, they mention that the game is “officially confirmed as a day-one launch title on Xbox Game Pass,” meaning it will become available on both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on that same day.
While account @SynthPotato seems to have received a reply confirming the same date, it also shared some additional details about the RPG. Apparently, the announcement stated that this version will come with all DLCs from the original game, ensuring a complete experience with improved visuals and gameplay.
As a passionate follower of gaming news, I can share that @CptTekashi posted about receiving conflicting information regarding the expansion packs for an upcoming RPG. Initially, they were told the expansions would be standalone, but later learned they’d be included in the Deluxe Edition instead. The remastered game is expected to come with just the base version, leading to some confusion about the game’s offerings.
Although the information seems convincing, it’s wise to view it with skepticism until an official game announcement is made. Even though these conversations appear to involve live agents, some people are uncertain whether they’re dealing with a bot instead of a human. If it’s indeed a bot, its responses might hold less credibility when it comes to verifying information like this compared to a real person.
I tried messaging Xbox Support myself to check if they would confirm the release date for Oblivion Remastered, which is April 21st. So far, after over an hour, I haven’t received a response – it’s possible that their support agents have tightened up their communication since the initial announcement to prevent any additional information from spreading out. If I hear back later, we’ll update this article accordingly.
