In a significant shift, tech giant NVIDIA, renowned for its technological and AI advancements, has unveiled a major transformation in its manufacturing process. For the first time, NVIDIA will manufacture all of its AI supercomputers within the United States, having already secured agreements to bring this plan to life.
NVIDIA recently announced on its official news platform that they are planning to shift their manufacturing operations to the United States. In this announcement, NVIDIA reveals that they have secured deals to construct production facilities in Arizona (for Blackwell chips) and Texas (for AI supercomputers). Currently, NVIDIA is producing Blackwell chips at TSMC’s factories located in Phoenix, Arizona.
Including domestic production will enable us to more effectively cater to the escalating and extraordinary need for artificial intelligence processors and supercomputers,” stated CEO Jensen Huang. “This move also fortifies our supply chain and increases our ability to withstand potential disruptions.
It’s important to mention that these changes follow President Donald Trump’s decision to impose tariffs on multiple foreign nations, a move that could affect the import of NVIDIA products into the U.S. By manufacturing in America, the company can potentially bypass these tariffs when it comes to their Blackwell chips and supercomputers in the future.
