As a devoted fan who has been following Mani Megalai’s career since her days as a VJ, I must say, this recent turn of events in Cooku with Comali comes as quite a shock. It’s hard to imagine such unprofessionalism and immature behavior on a show that has been a source of entertainment for millions.
In simpler terms, “Cooku with Comali” is a well-known reality TV program where popular figures team up to create delicious dishes to win over the judges. Lately, the host Mani Megalai disclosed that she’s stepping down from the show due to surprising circumstances. She shared that another female co-host took control during the recent season of Cooku with Comali.
Mani Megalai expressed her experiences in a detailed post on Instagram, recounting an incident where another co-anchor repeatedly disrupted her while filming a TV show. Despite bringing up the issue, no resolution was found.
For over fifteen years, Mani Megalai shared her expertise as an anchor without ever encountering unprofessional or childish conduct during any broadcast.
She wrote, “NOTHING is More important than SELF RESPECT ! I strictly follow that in all stages of my life. Even Fame, Money, Profession, Opportunities or Whatever, Never Mind. Everything is Secondary when it comes to Self respect. Hence i walked away from CWC.”
This season has seen another female host taking control, particularly in the Anchor segment, although she’s supposed to be a chef on the show. She frequently overlooks her role and interrupts me during my anchor duties, preventing me from doing my job effectively. Expressing our rights or raising concerns is seen as an offense this season. Nevertheless, I will continue to speak up for what I believe is right, regardless of others’ opinions. The negativity and dominance have overshadowed the original charm of CWC, making it no longer enjoyable like before. Consequently, I am no longer a part of it.” – Mani Megalai stated further.
