As a binge-watching Netflix enthusiast with a soft spot for romantic comedies, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the renewal of “Nobody Wants This“! With its captivating cast and irresistible script, this show has become my new obsession. I devoured all ten episodes in one sitting – an accomplishment I haven’t achieved since Netflix started streaming!
Following the announcement that Netflix axed “KAOS” featuring Jeff Goldblum, we’re thrilled to share some positive updates! Two original series have been given a reprieve – the romantic comedy “Nobody Wants This” and the popular political drama “The Diplomat”. These renewals were made official at the Bloomberg Screentime Conference on October 10. Given the rave reviews these shows received, it’s no wonder they’ve been given a chance to continue, although the streaming world can be unpredictable at times!
The show titled “Nobody Wants This” debuted on September 26th and has been consistently ranking high on Netflix’s Top 10 list since then. Boasting an excellent cast and captivating storyline, it’s easy to understand why viewers have taken a liking to it. I found myself glued to the screen and finished the entire series in one go, which is quite rare these days!
Nobody Wants This to return with new showrunners
In an announcement made today, Netflix has confirmed that Season 2 of “Nobody Wants This” is set to debut in the year 2025, exciting news for fans! The series, originally created by Erin Foster, is undergoing some updates with Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan taking over as executive producers and showrunners. Additionally, Nora Silver will join them as an executive producer.
Although the second season isn’t currently being filmed, meaning there’s no fresh footage for viewing just yet, Netflix has released an exciting renewal video to stir our anticipation.
In a statement to Netflix, Foster shared of the renewal:
Creating Nobody Wants This will forever be a career highlight for me. The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed. I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story, and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I’ve been such a fan of since Girls… Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!
The initial 10-episode run of “Nobody Wants This” chronicles the romance between a podcaster named Joanne (Kristen Bell) and rabbi Noah (Adam Brody). Hailing from distinct backgrounds and harboring contrasting religious views, they find it difficult to resist their attraction. Determined to make their unconventional relationship work, they face numerous challenges including interference from family, friends, and Noah’s busy profession. Navigating these obstacles is no simple task.
The comedy series “Nobody Wants This” launched into second place on Netflix, amassing a total of 10.3 million views within its initial four days, according to Variety. In the week of September 30th, it rose to the top position with an additional 15.9 million views. However, “Love is Blind” season 7 has since taken over the number one spot, although at the time this was written, “Nobody Wants This” remains in second place on the list.
Clearly, everybody wants this heartfelt rom-com! We are so happy it’s returning for another season.
