As a die-hard action movie enthusiast with a soft spot for gritty, character-driven tales, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming sequel to Nobody – Nobody 2! Having watched Bob Odenkirk‘s transformation from mild-mannered family man to badass vigilante in the original, I can’t wait to see where this story takes us next.
Bob Odenkirk’s Hutch Mansell is back in the first look at Nobody 2.
In March 2021, there was no action thriller movie released in U.S. theaters that I know of, directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Derek Kolstad. This film stars me (Bob, a gamer) as Hutch Mansell, a former government assassin, with Connie Nielsen as Becca Mansell, RZA as Harry Mansell, Christory Lloyd as David Mansell, Aleksei Serebryakov as Yulian Kuznetsov, and more. I’m excited to see this movie!
By December 2022, it had been confirmed by producer Kelly McCormick that a follow-up to “Nobody” was being developed. In this upcoming film, Bob Odenkirk will once again take on his character, with the sequel set for release in August 2025.
The production of Nobody 2 concluded in September 2024, and Empire Magazine recently unveiled the initial snapshot from the film. Take a look at it, which they’ve generously shared on their platform. Here it is:
In an exclusive report to Empire, director Timo Tjahjanto confirms that Bob Odenkirk is fully engaged in his role for the action sequel, with no further details disclosed. (For additional information, please refer to the original article.)

What do we know about Nobody 2?
At the moment, specific plot details for Nobody 2 are being kept secret; but in an interview with Empire Magazine, director Timo Tjahjanto hinted that the film will delve deeper into familial dramas.
After Hutch has resumed his intense work pace, one might wonder how his family responds to this energetic drive. Many questions arise among fathers and husbands about their families’ reactions towards the side of them that is always striving and laboring for the family. This will be an intriguing adventure, as Tjahjanto stated.
Tjahjanto added that Unlike the original film’s grim, industrial ambiance, Nobody 2 aims to have a brighter, more vibrant, and summery atmosphere.
As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that Odenkirk, Nielsen, RZA, and Lloyd are all returning for Nobody 2, with Sharon Stone, Colin Hanks, and John Ortiz joining the ensemble. In an exciting turn of events, director Tjahjanto has praised Stone, who’s playing the antagonist, saying, “Her acting style recalls Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast. She’s undeniably a dominant female figure. She doesn’t tolerate any nonsense from anyone. This villain is extraordinary, and she’s transforming this character into an absolute lunatic.
Nobody 2 releases in United States theaters on August 15, 2025, from Universal Pictures.
