Recently, people on the internet have been discussing a supposed incident involving him and Sydney Thomas, who was a ring girl in the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson match. The story claimed that Williamson tried to flirt with her by commenting on one of her Instagram posts, asking her to look at her direct messages. However, it appears this entire tale is completely made up.
The rumor originated from NBACentel, a parody account on X (formerly Twitter) designed to mimic the reputable NBACentral. The fake post included a doctored screenshot of a supposed exchange between Williamson and Thomas. In the screenshot, Williamson commented, “Check your DM shorty,” and Thomas replied, “Huh? Who are you calling shorty? I’m good… enjoy your recovery.” While the interaction was entirely made up, the post quickly went viral, reaching over 16 million views.
In spite of the falsehood of the statements made, the post triggered an influx of fans flooding Thomas’ Instagram, seeking evidence of the supposed interaction. Many were left disheartened when they found no such comment, but persisted in bombarding Thomas’ posts with allusions to the rumor. So far, Thomas has not restricted comments and Williamson has chosen not to address the situation publicly.
It’s not the first occasion that Williamson’s personal life has gained public attention.
