As a long-time admirer of Jani Master’s work, it is disheartening to see him embroiled in such controversy. I have always appreciated his unique dance styles and the way he brings life to every performance. However, the allegations against him are serious and demand attention.
Famous dance choreographer Jani Master faced allegations of sexual assault earlier this year, made by a 21-year-old female associate. Initially detained due to these charges, he was subsequently released on bail. More recent news indicated that he had been dismissed from the Dance Directors Association for similar reasons. Now, the choreographer has released his initial statement regarding the controversy.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, I, Jani Master, refuted the claim of my permanent expulsion from the Dance Directors Association. I made it clear that during my active membership, no individual had the power to make such a decision.
He mentioned that audiences are very soon going to witness his choreography in Ram Charan starrer Game Changer.
Take a look at his statement here:
Jani Master clarified, “There are rumors circulating in the media that I’ve been permanently expelled from the union based on baseless claims. Disregard such news!! Nobody has the authority to make decisions and take positions unfairly, especially during my tenure. I’m taking legal action against those responsible for this unethical behavior. Talent cannot be suppressed; a fantastic track is coming up in my choreography under #GameChanger, and you all will surely enjoy it.
Previously reported by Sakshi, the choreographer was previously suspended from the Association, serving as its President. Yet, during their recent meeting on December 6, they elected a new president, marking the permanent end of Jani Master’s tenure in that position.
For those unfamiliar, Jani Master faced accusations of sexually abusing his 18-year-old coworker, who was underage at the time. Consequently, charges were brought against him for various offenses, including violations of the POSCO Act, as well as sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 323 from the Indian Penal Code.
Following my release on bail, the court has directed me to steer clear of any actions that may disrupt the life of the victim or interfere with the current trial proceedings. As a devoted admirer, I am committed to complying with these instructions and ensuring that my actions do not jeopardize the legal process.
