No, King of the Hill Reboot Hasn’t Been Canceled by Hulu

In January 2023, it was confirmed that a new version or continuation of the well-liked Fox animated show “King of the Hill” was being created at Hulu. Since then, bits and pieces of information about the team working on this project have been released here and there. Yet, some enthusiasts of the initial series are curious to know when it will be released and if there’s a chance it might get canceled.

Here are all the details.

Has Hulu canceled the King of the Hill reboot series already?

Contrary to some rumors, Hulu has not terminated the King of the Hill reboot. In fact, they’ve recently unveiled a first look poster of the revival on their social media platforms.

Back in the late ’90s to early 2010s, I was glued to Fox every week for 13 seasons, following the Hills – a down-to-earth American family living in the made-up Texas town of Arlen. Fast forward a while, and it seems like my favorite characters are back, only this time they’re older versions of themselves. As for the storyline of the reboot, details are still under wraps. But here’s what I do know: it’s set in the future, and Craig Erwich, the big boss at Disney Television Group, promises that it’ll resonate with us today more than ever. He told Variety that this new King of the Hill will show Hank Hill in a brand-new light without forcing it. I can hardly wait to see what they’ve got in store!

Significantly, Hank Hill, portrayed by Mike Judge, serves as the central character in the show. Judge will once again take on this role in the revival. Additionally, Kathy Najimy, Peggy Hill; Stephen Root, Bill Dauterive; Pamela Adlon, Bobby Hill; and Lauren Tom, Minh and Connie Souphanousinphone are among those reprising their roles.

At the ATX TV Festival on May 30, 2025, set at the Paramount Theater, you’ll find the cast and creators of our upcoming reboot. This special event will offer a sneak peek into the revival itself. Excitingly, the reboot is expected to premiere in summer 2025, most likely in August, for two seasons!
