As a dedicated fan who has binged through countless series, I must say that No Good Deed by Liz Feldman has undoubtedly left its mark. The intricate plot twists and character development have kept me hooked from the very first episode.
The Debut of “No Good Deed,” a fresh comedy-thriller drama penned by Liz Feldman, has sparked curiosity amongst viewers. One intriguing query pertains to the destiny of a significant character. Boasting an illustrious cast including Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano, and Linda Cardellini, alongside several others, the series has earned generally favorable feedback.
Here’s all you need to know about one of the show’s most shocking moments.
How did Jacob die in Netflix’s No Good Deed?
Jacob died in Netflix’s No Good Deed after he was shot by Margo Starling.
For a significant portion of the season, Jacob’s death remained shrouded in mystery. This enigma was intertwined with Paul and Lydia’s daughter Emily’s strained relationship with the family. However, it wasn’t until Episode 7 that we uncovered the extent of Emily’s estrangement. In this episode, it was disclosed that Emily harbored a belief that she, in fact, had accidentally killed her brother Jacob several years prior to the series timeline.
However, a more comprehensive account unfolds in the following episode. It’s uncovered through flashbacks that Jacob, a neighbor to the Morgan family, was in the habit of pilfering expensive items from his neighbors’ homes. He then secretly bestowed these stolen goods on Margo, who was involved in an age-inappropriate and clandestine relationship with him.
Initially, Margo didn’t return Jacob’s feelings, causing him to warn her about returning the stolen goods and disclosing their affair to her husband JD. Later, when confronted, Margo callously dismissed any relationship between them, claiming that Jacob only harbored a one-sided infatuation towards her. She later shared this with Lydia in modern times.
Later on, Margo pursued Jacob while holding JD’s firearm. During their journey, Margo tried to scare Jacob into keeping quiet about their affair by threatening him. However, Jacob pushed his way into his own home. Meanwhile, Emily mistakenly believed a break-in was occurring and challenged the intruder with a gun, not realizing it was Jacob. In the end, a shot rang out.
First, Margo spotted Emily, whose face showed a mix of despair and remorse. It was later disclosed that Margo was the one who had fired the gun that struck Jacob. After this revelation, Margo departed the scene, choosing to let the Morgan family manage the situation as they saw fit from then on.
No Good Deed is currently streaming on Netflix.
