The creators of Kantara Chapter 1 have officially cleared up recent rumors about an accident on the set involving a boat overturning. Initially, there were claims that Rishab Shetty and around 30 other crew members were aboard when the ship overturned, but fortunately, they all managed to get away unharmed.
Actually, contrary to initial reports, there was never a deadly accident happening on the movie set.
Kantara Chapter 1 producer issues clarification on alleged boat accident
As a devoted follower, I’m sharing some clarification based on a report by The New Indian Express. Adarsh JA, the movie’s executive producer, has made an effort to debunk false rumors. He emphasized that no one was aboard when the boat overturned within the Mani Dam reservoirs.
He noted that the watercraft overturned because of powerful winds and rain, with nobody nearby at the time of the accident, which means there were no injuries or fatalities. Furthermore, Adarsh clarified that the boat was merely in the backdrop and not an active element during the movie’s production.
He asserted that “At the moment the boat capsized due to strong winds and rain, no one was on board. Fortunately, no incidents occurred.” The ship used as a prop also tipped over in the same weather, but since nobody was close by at the time, there were no injuries or harm to the crew.
Kantara Chapter 1 shooting not halted, confirms producer
As an over-the-moon admirer, I felt compelled to set the record straight about those rumors swirling around the production of our beloved movie. Contrary to what some have been saying, the film’s production did not grind to a halt due to that unfortunate accident. In fact, the event took place light-years away from where the actual filming was happening, so production carried on according to plan!
Adarsh emphasized that every actor, crew member, and involved party will be secure during filming, stating that all required permits have been obtained for shooting scenes in water. Additionally, he guaranteed that necessary safety equipment would be accessible on location to minimize the risk of any accidents.
I affirmed, “However, none of our team was present at the scene, and the filming site was distinctly different. Rest assured, everyone is secure, and production carries on as scheduled.
