Koei Tecmo has officially unveiled Nioh 3, the latest installment in their challenging Souls-like action game franchise, exclusively for PlayStation 5. Players can get a taste of this intense new title with a demo available now. Compared to its predecessor, Nioh 2, Nioh 3 boasts significant improvements in gameplay and features.
Nioh 3 is more open than before
As announced in the most recent PlayStation State of Play, Nioh 3 aspires to surpass its previous versions with significant improvements. Drawing inspiration from Elden Ring, the upcoming Soulslike game emphasizes a more expansive, open-field style level design rather than the linear structure that’s traditionally found in the series.
Besides the conventional settings for samurai battles, players will also enjoy an alternative ninja combat style, offering swift fighting actions at unprecedented speeds compared to previous experiences.
In the next installment, Nioh 3, you can expect the game’s signature challenge, particularly during intense battles against formidable Oni foes.
Or, more casually:
Nioh 3 ramps up the toughness level and pits players against numerous Onis in fierce boss fights.
