In the upcoming months, one of the intriguing features for Nintendo Switch 2 is a motion-controlled wheelchair basketball game titled Drag x Drive. Although it seems unusual, Nintendo plans to let players experience it themselves before forming an opinion. Starting soon, a demo will be accessible to members of Nintendo Switch Online, with several online play sessions scheduled prior to Drag x Drive’s launch in August 2025.
This week, I’m thrilled to share that Nintendo has revealed some exciting details about the upcoming demo and trial events for Drag x Drive! As per their announcement, if you’re a lucky Nintendo Switch 2 owner with an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription, you’ll be able to download the demo. The first online gaming sessions will happen on August 9 and 10! Can’t wait to jump in and try it out!

Here are the online play sessions for the Drag x Drive demo:
- Session 1: August 9 from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. PT / 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET
- Session 2: August 9 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET
- Session 3: August 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. PT / 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET
Instead of other Nintendo Switch 2 games we’ve encountered, Drag ‘n’ Drive stands out due to being the first-party title that heavily leverages the Switch 2’s novel mouse-input capabilities. Given its focus on motion controls, it appears to be a game that one must experience personally to determine if it suits their taste.
Fortunately, prior to its August 15 release, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can look forward to trying out the Drag x Drive demo firsthand. Keep updated by following the Drag x Drive topic for further announcements.
