Last year towards the end, Nintendo caused quite a stir by unveiling plans for new hardware. But unlike a brand-new console, this isn’t what we’ll see anytime soon. Instead, it took shape as an alarm clock. Initially, it was to be exclusively available online for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers and those fortunate enough to find one at Nintendo New York. However, it seems the exclusivity period for Nintendo Switch Online members may be nearing its end, as Nintendo has officially announced that the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo will soon hit stores in a few short months.
2025 Marks the Arrival of Nintendo Sound Clock’s Alarmo in Stores! No subscription to Nintendo Switch Online is necessary for purchase. Stock is limited, so grab yours while you can!

The Nintendo Sound Clock’s Alarmo is set to hit stores at partnered retailers nationwide next year, March 2025, without needing a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
If you’re not familiar with it yet, Alarmo is Nintendo’s venture into digital alarm clocks. This interactive device lets you wake up to animations, sounds, and characters from various popular Nintendo games such as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, Ring Fit Adventure, and even Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (with updates added in December). More updates for this device are expected in the future. Our review found it a bit quirky with some flaws, but it still earned accolades as Shacknews Best Hardware of 2024.
Nintendo has not revealed precise information about when Alarmo will be available for purchase in stores. However, you can anticipate finding it at a variety of partnering retailers such as Best Buy, Target, and others. The game is expected to appear on store shelves sometime during the month of March.
