It’s clear that the wider economy has influenced the tech and gaming sector, with Nintendo‘s operations in Canada being the latest to be impacted. The corporation has unveiled intentions to adjust prices for certain models of the Switch, but fortunately, this revision won’t affect the upcoming Switch 2.
Nintendo Canada recently announced an update concerning pricing adjustments across various products in the nation. This revision affects the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Switch OLED models, as well as physical and digital games, Amiibo figures, and online subscriptions.
Nintendo attributes the upcoming price adjustments to “current market circumstances.” After announcing the Switch 2 in April, Nintendo postponed the commencement of pre-orders in several regions to evaluate the overall economic situation, given the potential impact of tariffs on the global economy.
Nintendo hasn’t revealed the updated prices for the Switch 1 and its associated games yet, however, starting from August 1st, these revised prices will be available at Canadian retailers.
