150 million users on the original Nintendo Switch is quite an impressive figure, as just two months ago, it was reported that the console had surpassed this number in sales. Even if not all consoles are currently in use, Nintendo still claimed 129 million active players for the year 2024. This is a substantial number of gamers, and it appears Nintendo has no intention of abandoning them, despite the sleek appearance of the upcoming Switch 2.
It appears that the Nintendo Switch 2 will not render the current model obsolete for loyal players, as it seems there are no immediate concerns about the original Switch transforming into a useless device upon the release of its successor in June 2025.
