As an old-school gamer with decades of gaming experience under my belt, I must say that today’s Nintendo Direct Indie World and Partner Showcase was nothing short of a treasure trove for gamers like myself! The sheer number of games announced for the Nintendo Switch, along with updates for existing ones, left me feeling nostalgic yet excited for what’s to come.
Today, on August 27, 2024, I was thrilled to witness the latest Nintendo Direct: Indie World and Partner Showcase! It was an exciting extravaganza that unveiled numerous fresh and forthcoming video games for us fans to look forward to!
Attendees got a generous serving of upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch as well as other gaming platforms, with most set to release in 2024. Some anticipated updates, a lot of unexpected surprises, and a few secretly released games were part of the mix. We’ve rounded up all the announcements from the event for your convenience.

- The Shrek Special Pack DLC arrives for PowerWash Simulator this fall.
- Tetris Forever is a compilation of previous games as well as a new Tetris Time Warp game. The collection is being released later this year on Switch to celebrate the franchise’s 40th anniversary.
- Tetris NES version comes to Nintendo Switch Online this winter, while Tetris 99 will get a Maximus Cup update.
- 3D open-world third-person action-adventure Star Overdrive launches as a timed Nintendo Switch exclusive in 2025.
- Goat Simulator 3 was released digitally on Switch today. A physical version will arrive in November.
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st is a remake of the turn-based RPG that launches in 2025 on Nintendo Switch.
- Star Wars: Hunters Season 3 launches on September 26.
- Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition also launches on September 26 for PS5, PS4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy will be released on Switch in November.
- The Disney Dreamlight Valley “End of Summer” in-game event begins on September 4.
- SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game is a physics-based sandbox adventure launching on October 4 on PS5, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Pre-orders are available now.
- Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer now includes seated training exercises when it arrives on Switch on December 5.
- Capcom Fighting Collection 2 includes 8 fighting games like Power Stone and Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001. It releases on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2025.
- MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will be released digitally on Switch, PS4, and PC on September 12. A physical version will arrive on November 22.
- Alchemy-themed JRPG Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land introduces a new protagonist, Yumia. The game launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC early in 2025.
- The delayed Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars arrive on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC as a bundle on March 6, 2025.
- Preorders are now open for DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake, which launches on November 14 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
- Castlevania Dominus Collection brings three Nintendo DS games to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC today.
- Tales of Graces f Remastered brings the Wii game to Nintendo Switch on January 17, 2025.
- MySims: Cozy Bundle brings MySims and MySims Kingdom exclusively to Nintendo Switch on November 19.
- Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 and the Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach – Ruin DLC will arrive on Switch this holiday season.
- Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of The Rings Game got a holiday 2024 release window.
- Funko Fusion has seemingly been delayed on Switch to a vague holiday 2024 release window.
- Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is a reimagined Rune Factory experience coming to Nintendo Switch and PC in spring 2025.
