In 2024, Nintendo decided not to participate in any conventions, but they have now confirmed their return to Cologne, Germany for Gamescom 2025. Since this event takes place after the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s reasonable to assume that attendees will have an opportunity to explore both the console and its games at the event.
Excitingly, I learned this week through Nintendo’s German social media channel that they plan to join us at Gamescom 2025! Mark your calendars as the event is set for August 19th to the 24th, 2025. Geoff Keighley has also announced his Gamescom Opening Night Live presentation will be held on the 19th. Nintendo’s confirmed participation means they’ll be showcasing their newest offerings right on the convention floor for all of us fans to see!

Undoubtedly, at Gamescom 2025, we’ll be unveiling the newest addition to Nintendo’s lineup – the Nintendo Switch 2, set to hit stores in June 2025. This event will also mark the debut of Mario Kart World, accompanied by a variety of other games, both new and improved versions from the original Nintendo Switch.
