Approximately twenty years following its initial launch, Nike’s inflatable coat is still highly sought after as a standout item in the realm of technical fashion. Now, this groundbreaking outerwear has been resurrected and reinvented through Nike’s ISPA (Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt) collection, infusing contemporary design into the year 2025.
Initially launched in 2008 under Nike’s outdoor-oriented ACG collection, this jacket seemed like a typical waterproof coat on initial observation. But what set it apart was its unique characteristic – a system of inflatable panels. When filled with air, these panels turned the jacket into a warm puffer style.
For Spring 2025, Nike’s ISPA division is bringing back an innovative idea with the Adapt Sense Air Jacket. This new version keeps the essential inflatable technology but adds a stylish, adjustable design. Featuring its own pump, the jacket can inflate multiple air pockets, providing personalized warmth levels. It will be available in two colors: a sophisticated black and a deep chestnut brown.
Apart from being inflatable, the Adapt Sense Air Jacket stands out as an exceptional technical piece of clothing. Key features include a shielding front face flap, closable air vents, and a design that can be transformed into a bag by folding down its construction.
The Adapt Sense Air Jacket, one of four new releases from Nike’s ISPA lineup, can be purchased now in Asia through Nike’s online platform. A worldwide launch is anticipated this coming spring.
