As filming for “The Odyssey” continues, an increasing number of images from the set of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming production have been surfacing. Among these, we now have our first glimpse of Tom Holland, who was spotted on set in outfits that have sparked similarities to those worn in The Lord of the Rings series.
In the latest snapshots from the filming of The Odyssey, you’ll find Holland sailing with multiple co-stars on a vessel. Interestingly, Nolan is also spotted on this boat, but it remains uncertain which specific scene is being captured or if they are merely discussing a future scene.
Enthusiasts swiftly posted pictures of Holland, who sported a similar appearance to Frodo Baggins from The Lord of the Rings, complete with a greenish cloak and a wrapped accessory around his neck, leading many to jest that he was cosplaying as Frodo.

What do we know about Tom Holland’s character in The Odyssey?
At present, it’s not definitively known which character Holland is portraying in this production. However, based on the script and Holland’s age, there is widespread speculation that he might be playing Telemachus, the son of Odysseus (Odyssey) and Penelope, who sets out to search for his father who has been absent since the Trojan War ended.
The Odyssey boasts an incredibly talented ensemble alongside Holland, with the likes of Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Mia Goth, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Corey Hawkins, Josh Stewart, Cosmo Jarvis, Jimmy Gonzales, Maurice Compte, and numerous others.
Christopher Nolan’s next movie, titled “The Odyssey,” is a mythical action-packed adventure filmed worldwide using groundbreaking IMAX camera technology, as announced by Universal. This film will be the first adaptation of Homer’s classic tale to grace IMAX screens, and it will hit theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
One of the two legendary Greek epics, commonly linked to Homer – a renowned Greek storyteller also known for the Iliad – is frequently regarded as a pivotal figure in global literary history, whose works have left an enduring impact on humanity.
The epic tale, “The Odyssey”, narrates the adventure of the legendary Greek hero, King Odysseus of Ithaca, on his voyage back home following the Trojan War. Because it was believed he had perished, his wife Penelope and son Telemachus encounter numerous suitors who vie for Penelope’s affection while Odysseus is away.
Back in an age long past, probably around the 8th or 7th century Before Common Era, I stumbled upon a tale so grand it’s hard to believe it was penned that far back – The Odyssey. This epic story has left an indelible mark on literary history, and as a gamer, I can’t help but draw parallels between the heroic journey of its protagonist and countless quests we embark upon in our virtual worlds.
