Enthusiasts of the Nick Park-created “Shaun the Sheep” series have a reason to celebrate as the upcoming film in the franchise has finally been given a potential release date. Known for its stop-motion IPs like Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run, Aardman Animations is currently developing a third Shaun the Sheep movie, named “Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom”. This project is being done in collaboration with StudioCanal and Sky.

Aardman Animations has officially announced the release date for Shaun the Sheep’s third full-length movie, set to be released in 2026. StudioCanal will start global sales during Cannes, with Sky handling distribution in the UK, making its debut both in theaters and on Sky Cinema.
As per the official summary, the third Shaun the Sheep movie finds the flock eagerly getting ready for Halloween, only for the Farmer to spoil their fun by damaging the pumpkin field. To save the holiday, Shaun resorts to science, unintentionally causing mayhem and releasing a wild creature from the woods of Mossingham in the process.
Apart from learning when the new Shaun the Sheep movie is set to be released, fans have also discovered who’s working on this eagerly anticipated project. Mark Burton and Giles Pilbrow will pen the script for the animated film, while Steve Cox and Matthew Walker will step into the directorial roles. Richard Beek has been announced as the producer for “The Beast of Mossy Bottom,” and Nick Park, Peter Lord, Carla Shelley, and Sarah Cox are set to be executive producers at the studio.
Although Aardman Animations has confirmed that Shaun the Sheep’s upcoming movie will be released in theaters in 2026, the details regarding the exact premiere date are yet to be disclosed in the report.
