New promo for TWD Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol season 2

As a dedicated fan with over two decades of The Walking Dead fandom under my belt, I am beyond excited for the upcoming second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, subtitled “The Book of Carol.” Having grown up watching Rick Grimes and his band of survivors navigate the post-apocalyptic world, it’s a thrill to see Daryl’s journey continue.

anticipation for the second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is building rapidly. On September 29, AMC and AMC+ will premiere this installment, titled The Book of Carol. Picking up right where the first season ended, we’ll catch up with Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier again.

In the recently released trailer from AMC (the one you see below), Carol is shown with a fresh set of companions, among them Ash, played by actor Manish Dayal from ‘The Resident’. As she speaks in the clip, she reflects on her journey and mentions that Daryl is her only remaining family. This statement appears unusual given that she has many others at the Commonwealth and Alexandria communities.

Carol’s encounter is with Ash, who shifted from Boston to Maine following the outbreak, and now resides at his family’s holiday home. The extended trailer (provided below), unveiled during the 2024 SDCC event, hints that Ash has a plane, which they plan to fly to France. This idea seems far-fetched, but recall Daryl Dixon’s (played by Norman Reedus) journey to France in the first season – it was equally unconventional back then.

Audience members will watch as Carol embarks on a desperate mission to uncover the fate of her best friend following their short-lived radio chat before he was sent to France. He had promised Carol he would be back in the Commonwealth within a week, but when he failed to show up, she started her investigation. Facing numerous challenges along the way, Carol might manage to reach France with the assistance of a new acquaintance.

In the upcoming season, Daryl’s narrative continues directly following the end of season 1, when he found himself at a critical juncture and had to make his next move. It appears that he opted to stay in France and carry on assisting his recently formed allies, a nun named Isabelle (portrayed by Clémence Poésy) and a young lad named Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi). The preview suggests that he’s still engaged in combat against the Union of Hope, which is headed by Genet (Anne Charrier), also known as The Power of the Living.
