New Malayalam movies releasing this week in theaters

1. Bromance

The movie titled “Bromance,” helmed by Arun D Jose, debuts on Valentine’s Day. In this story, Mathew Thomas plays Binto, who sets out to find his lost brother, Shinto. But instead, he encounters a tangle of complications. As the narrative unfolds, Shabeer (Arjun Ashokan), a friend of Shinto, and Aishwarya (Mahima Nambiar), Shinto’s girlfriend, get involved in Binto’s quest. To make things even more intriguing, there’s a hacker, a courier agent, and a gang causing turmoil. The film is produced by Aashiq Usman and delivers an engaging mix of humor and suspense.

2. Painkili

Sajin Gopu and Anaswara Rajan have teamed up for the film “Painkili,” offering an intriguing blend of uncertainty. The teaser presents a tumultuous setting, initially focusing on a man dealing with mental health issues. His mother voices her hardships, as Anaswara’s character yearns for independence and dismisses the notion of running away for love. She gains insights into the phases of love from a confidante, while Sajin’s character becomes immersed in a surreal realm.

Beyond adding to the chaos, Chandu Salimkuran and Riyas Khan join in. The movie “Painkili” premieres on Valentine’s Day, squaring off against “Daveed” and “Bromance” in cinemas.

3. Daveed

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but gush over the upcoming masterpiece, “Daveed,” directed by the legendary Govind Vishnu. This cinematic gem is the brainchild of Deepu Rajeevan and Govind Vishnu themselves. The stellar cast includes Antony Varghese, Lijomol Jose, Saiju Kurup, Kichu Tellus, and many more talented actors. At its heart, this film tells the gripping tale of Ashiq Abu, fondly known as Daveed (David), who courageously confronts his formidable adversary, Goliath.

The film was shot in Thrissur, Kottayam, and Ernakulam. Justin Varghese created the soundtrack, while Salu K. Thomas took care of cinematography and Rakesh Cherumadam oversaw editing. The production of Daveed is under Century Max John & Mary Productions, Panorama Studios, Aby Alex Abhraham, and Tom Joseph.
