As a gamer with a heart full of nostalgia and a soft spot for animated classics, I must say that the new live-action Lilo & Stitch remake has me absolutely stoked! Growing up, this movie was an integral part of my childhood, bringing laughter, tears, and a deep sense of connection to the characters.
A new video for Disney’s upcoming live-action Lilo & Stitch remake has been released.
In the year 2002, an animated adaptation of Lilo & Stitch, created by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, hit the screens. This movie gave birth to a wide-ranging franchise that produced three straight-to-video follow-ups and several TV shows.
Disney is currently working on a live-action/CGI reboot of the beloved movie “Lilo & Stitch,” with Dean Fleischer Camp at the helm as director. This new version is set to hit theaters in May 2025.
In a tribute to The Lion King, the latest Lilo & Stitch video kicks off with clips of giraffes and zebras galloping across the African plains instead. Unlike Simba, it’s Stitch who experiences a lively day at the beach instead.

In a fresh, real-life adaptation, Disney’s 2002 animated masterpiece, Lilo & Stitch, comes to life once more. This heartwarming and hilarious tale follows a young Hawaiian girl who feels alone and an outlaw alien who brings about healing for her broken family.
In this upcoming film, Bernie Sanders will lend his voice to Stitch, while the ensemble includes Maia Kealoha playing Lilo, Sydney Agudong portraying Nani, Billy Magnussen voicing Agent Pleakley, Zach Galifianakis providing Dr. Jumba’s voice, Tia Carrere as Mrs. Kekoa, Courtney B. Vance taking on Cobra Bubbles, and Hannah Waddingham bringing the Grand Councilwoman to life through her voice.
Previously, Fleischer Camp has created movies such as Fraud (2016) and Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (2021). The upcoming Lilo & Stitch movie is being produced by Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin, with Louie Provost, Tom Peitzman, and Ryan Halprin serving in executive producer roles.
On May 23, 2025, the beloved animated film “Lilo & Stitch” will hit the screens of U.S. movie theaters, courtesy of Walt Disney Studios.
