Based on Fox 5 reports, a map indicates that fierce wildfires are encroaching on the boundary between New Jersey and New York, particularly in the West Milford region of New Jersey and the Greenwood Lakes area of New York. The drought in this border area is said to have contributed to the blaze, leading to extensive damage to the land and tragically claiming the life of a young firefighter who had joined the efforts to extinguish the flames.

18-year-old volunteer firefighter Dariel Vasquez passed away on Saturday when a tree collapsed on him while he was helping fight a wildfire near the border of New Jersey and New York. The authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. Regrettably, another firefighter was taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation from the intense blaze.

In the latest report, forest fire crews in New Jersey managed to control 75% of a wildfire spanning across 175 acres in a densely populated neighborhood. This blaze put at least 55 homes in the Pompton Lakes area of Passaic County at risk. Luckily, no evacuation orders were given despite the threat. However, residents received some relief when it began to rain lightly on Monday, which benefited firefighters tackling the flames.

Authorities have mandated evacuations in vulnerable locations and encouraged locals to prepare for potential severe consequences, as the wildfire persists in expanding across the border area between New Jersey and New York.
