The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has added four new cast members.
The upcoming movie titled “Sunrise on the Reaping,” which is a prequel to “The Hunger Games,” is based on Suzanne Collins’ novel of the same name and will hit theaters in 2026. Francis Lawrence directs this production, with Billy Ray handling the screenplay.

This impressive cast includes Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Ralph Fiennes, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Jesse Plemons, Billy Porter, and Lili Taylor. These seasoned performers are accompanied by promising newcomers such as Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak, McKenna Grace, Ben Wang, and others.

In line with the recent announcements, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming roles! I, for one, will be stepping into the shoes of Proserpina in Sunrise on the Reaping. Meanwhile, Jax Guerrero is set to bring Tibby to life, Edvin Ryding will embody Vitus, and Sandra Förster will breathe life into Hersilia. Can’t wait to see this epic tale unfold!

Iris Apatow, the offspring of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, has graced the silver screen in films like Knocked Up (2007), Funny People (2009), This Is 40 (2012), Sausage Party (2016), The Bubble (2022), and Young Werther (2024). Additionally, she portrayed the character Georgia in Netflix’s Unstable.
Lately, Ryding has portrayed Erik in Danny Boyle’s film “28 Years Later,” and he is well recognized for his role as Prince Wilhelm in “Young Royals.” On the rise are the budding talents Förster and Guerrero.
In addition to the main characters, the cast features Laura Marcus portraying Silka, Percy Daggs IV playing Ampert, Rada Rae as Wellie, Jhaleil Swaby in the role of Panache, John Doeble as Buck, Alina Reid as Kerna, Salimou Thiam as Clayton, Kaine Buffonge as Hull, Sky Frances taking on Maritte, Tatyana Muzondo as Ringina, Kara Tointon as Willamae, Smylie Bradwell as Sid, Melody Chikakane Brown portraying Hattie Meeny, Grace Ackary as Asterid, Scot Greenan as Burdock, Jeffrey Hallman in the part of Clerk Carmine, Serafin Mishiev as Woodbine Chance, and Jefferson White stepping into Mr. McCoy’s shoes.
In the United States, the highly-anticipated film “The Hunger Games: Sunrise at the Reaping” will hit movie theaters on November 20, 2026, distributed by Lionsgate.
