New Fantastic Four Footage Reveals Fantasti-Car & Baxter Building in NBA Promos

Marvel Studios has collaborated with NBA and the Fantastic Four, unveiling promotional materials like trailers and TV ads. Among these, they showcased a comprehensive glimpse of the iconic flying vehicle, the Fantasti-car, which is synonymous with the Fantastic Four in comic books. Additionally, they offered a sneak peek into the capabilities of the team’s special wrist gadgets.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps gets multiple NBA promos and spots with new footage

Fresh video clips from the NBA promotions for Fantastic Four revealed glimpses of the Fantasti-car and other significant aspects of the film. One commercial showcases the titular superhero squad rushing to catch an NBA match’s starting bell, inside the Baxter Building – a made-up structure in the comics where the top five floors function as the Fantastic Four’s headquarters. In this specific video, the team is in a time crunch to make it to the basketball game’s opening.

Joseph Quinn’s character, Human Torch/Johnny Storm, ponders why he needs to use an elevator when he can simply fly. Despite this, Johnny persists in pressing the elevator button, prompting Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm/Invisible Woman to scold him, reminding him that his attempts won’t speed up the elevator.

While Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards continues talking about statistics, the conversation persists. Eventually, the elevator arrives, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm mentions that he’s assisting Matthew Wood’s H.E.R.B.I.E. in the kitchen instead.

As I eagerly awaited its official release, Marvel dropped additional TV teasers and promos, one of which highlighted the Fantasti-car. In the comic books, this vehicle has always been crucial for the Fantastic Four’s travels. Given this, it’s only logical to assume that the movie version will also serve a similar purpose in transporting the team.

In one scene, a TV ad showcases warning systems. These are wrist-worn technological gadgets that seem to warn the team of any impending dangers. Although the time-space GPS watches created by Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame were similar in appearance, they share minimal resemblance with the alert devices featured in this movie.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps premieres in US theaters on July 25, 2025.
