New Evil Dead Movie Gets Official Title, Release Date Window

As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast with over two decades of immersive experiences under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement about the new Evil Dead movie titled “Evil Dead Burn.” With its release date set for 2026, I’ve got plenty of time to prepare myself for the terrifying journey ahead.

According to Sebastien Vaniček himself, on social media, his latest Evil Dead film now has an official title and a scheduled release timeframe.

What is the new Evil Dead movie called?

Recenty, Vaniček posted on Instagram a snapshot of the script’s cover for the movie titled “Evil Dead Burn”. This reveal showed both their and Florent Bernard’s names as co-writers, along with a mention that the project is derived from the renowned Evil Dead film series by Sam Raimi.

In the post’s caption, Vaniček confirms that the movie is set to release sometime in 2026.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve got to admit, there’s not much known about Evil Dead Burn at the moment. However, back in the beginning of this year, Vaniček hinted to French website Konbini that the movie would be quite gruesome, and he aims to challenge us with a film that leaves us feeling pushed to our limits.

Vaniček expressed that he communicated his intention of creating a raw, intense film to the studio. He plans to pour all the dread he feels into this project, making it therapeutic. If his career survives this endeavor and he’s not typecast as a horror director, he intends to explore other genres next.

Before working on the latest Evil Dead film, Vaniček had previously directed the 2023 horror movie “Infested,” a project he also penned in collaboration with Bernard.

The movie will continue in the footsteps of Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise, a hit released in 2023. Currently, there’s an unnamed seventh Evil Dead film under development, with Francis Galluppi set to write and direct it. However, details about this project are yet to be disclosed.

The horror series known as “The Evil Dead” started in 1981 through Raimi’s initial movie, and was then continued by two more films titled “Evil Dead II” and “Army of Darkness”. After a short break, the franchise was reborn in 2013 when Fede Álvarez brought it back to life with a fresh take on the story.
