Fans react to Spider-Man easter egg in Deadpool & Wolverine TV spot
In the car with Logan, Deadpool makes a gesture resembling Spider-Man’s signature move, sparking debate among fans about which version of Spider-Man is being alluded to in the movie.
In response to this mention, a user on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the handle @HeroVibesYT, commented, “I’ve noticed that no one has brought up Deadpool making the Spider-Man hand gesture yet.”
Why isn’t Deadpool commonly depicted making Spider-Man’s hand gesture among discussions about him and Wolverine? #DeadpoolAndWolverine

A fan named @blurayangel asked if the Spider-Man portrayed by Tobey Maguire is being referenced in the TV commercial, suggesting, “Could it be Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man that Deadpool is aware of?”
Deadpool knows about SPIDER-MAN ?
Will it be Tobey’s? ?#DeadpoolAndWolverine

During that scene, It’sSchmittyyy suggested an intriguing theory: Deadpool and Wolverine could be referring to distinct characters in their conversation.
Based on my extensive knowledge and passion for comic books, I can assure you that when they say “100% they are talking about different Marvel characters here,” it means exactly that – there is no overlap or connection between the three characters being discussed. The image of Deadpool doing the Spider-Man hand pose does not add any significance to their distinction. It’s just a playful reference or homage to another character within the Marvel universe.

Based on my extensive knowledge and passion for comic books, I can confidently say that this statement is expressing a common observation among fans. Deadpool, known for his irreverent humor and pop-culture references, mimicking Spider-Man’s iconic hand gesture doesn’t necessarily imply anything more than a casual mention of the presence of three distinct Marvel characters in their conversation. This dynamic between these beloved superheroes is a testament to the richness and complexity of the Marvel Universe that I have grown up admiring.
Deadpool & Wolverine will release in the U.S. theaters on July 26, 2024.
