From August 5th to the 11th in the year 2024, Chinese drama enthusiasts have something exciting to look forward to with the premiere of the highly-anticipated show “A Lonely Hero’s Journey“. Additionally, popular series like “Dashing Youth“, “Love’s Rebellion“, and others will continue their run by releasing new episodes. These dramas cater to a wide range of tastes, offering genres such as Wuxia, fantasy, romance, comedy, and many more for viewers to enjoy.

I, being the protagonist, am Gu Yi Zhong, or Joseph Zeng in English, the esteemed head of the Gu family in Suzhou. Despite my prestigious education at a renowned foreign university, I chose to remain rooted in my hometown. Amidst the brutal War of Resistance against Japan, I took an active stand and engaged in anti-Japanese activities. This drama promises to be a riveting journey through history, offering insights into the resilience and courage of our forefathers. Can’t wait to see it unfold!

Over time, the Japanese came to view Gu Yi Zhong as a betrayer. Unable to clear his name, he swore allegiance to the cause of toppling the Japanese military. In order to reach this objective, he covertly joined the Suzhou Underground Intelligence Agency.

The drama will air throughout the week on iQIYI.

This romantic Chinese drama has also set a release date this week on August 6, 2024. 

While vacationing overseas, Gao Rong Fang’s character, Wen Xi, unwillingly finds herself ensnared in an illegal underground fighting ring and designated as the prize for the champion. However, it turns out that Jesse Ren’s character, Xu Zhe Qing, emerges victorious as the champion. In reality, Xu is a security expert, who has come to rescue Wen Xi. After navigating numerous perils, they ultimately execute an audacious escape plan.

Three years have passed, and under enigmatic circumstances, Wen Xi’s twin sister, Wen Hao, unexpectedly passes away. This renews their encounter with Xu Zhe Qing, but this time they find themselves in adversarial roles.

The drama will be available to stream on Youku.

Dashing Youth (Episode 26 – 32)

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that this week, the captivating Wuxia Chinese drama Dashing Youth will unfold seven enthralling episodes! The story revolves around me and my childhood best buddies, Baili Dongjun (played by Neo Hou) and Ye Yun (portrayed by He Yu). We’ve embarked on an epic quest to establish ourselves as renowned swordsmen and prove our worth.

Snowfall (Episode 14-24)

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share some exciting news: The captivating Chinese drama, set in the republic era and filled with fantasy elements, will conclude its run on August 11, 2024. This enchanting series revolves around the heartwarming love story between a powerful vampire, Shen Zhi Heng (played by Gao Weiguang), and Mi Lan (portrayed by Ouyang Nana), a remarkable blind girl who saves him. In return for her kindness, he guides and protects her. However, their bond is threatened when a malicious military general seeks revenge against Shen Zhi Heng, linking his family’s tragic murders to him.

Love’s Rebellion (Episode 13-21)

In the Xianxia Chinese series, we follow the journey of Nan Yan, a gifted young poison maker, as she ventures into the dirty valley to gather herbs. There, she encounters the enigmatic Emperor Cao Shang, played by Zhang Linghe, who shields her from harmful spirits.

Lord Cao Shang, once powerful, finds himself banished and powerless after being falsely accused of murdering his fellow lords. He adopts a new identity as Ji Yang and continues to reside among them, seeking the Seven Sins manual hidden within Nan Yan. A spiritual bond forms between Nan Yan and Ji Yang, leading them into a web of conspiracies. With no other options, they are forced to lean on one another for survival.

Love’s Rebellion is available to stream throughout the week on iQIYI and MGTV.

In addition to that, “My Troublesome Honey” is set to air its final episode on August 5, 2024. On the other hand, shows such as “As Husband as Wife, You Are My Secret”, “The Unexpected Marriage”, and so forth will keep airing new episodes throughout this current week.
