New Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Trailer Showcases the Return of the Ghost With the Most

As a longtime fan of Tim Burton’s whimsical and darkly comic films, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” sequel! The latest trailer has only deepened my anticipation for this much-awaited return to the fantastical world of the dead.

An additional trailer for “Beetlejuice,” starring Michael Keaton in his gratingly mischievous role, has been released.

Tim Burton’s long-awaited follow-up to his 1988 horror comedy classic “Beetlejuice” is just around the corner, with its release date less than two months away. To build excitement, the newest “Beetlejuice” trailer provides a captivating peek into the bizarre and enchanting realm of the deceased.

In the trailer, Jenna Ortega’s character Astrid Deetz is seen making sarcastic remarks towards her classmates at the beginning. Later, it’s revealed that she has a strained relationship with her mother’s past connected to “The Ghost House,” and she doesn’t believe in the supernatural. This dynamic contrasts with the first film’s portrayal of Lydia and her parents.

As a huge fan, I can’t help but retell the intriguing sequence of events from “Beetlejuice” that leaves Winona Ryder’s character, Lydia Deetz, compelled to summon Betelgeuse. Once he appears, mayhem in the underworld ensues, and just like the good old days, Betelgeuse cracks wise with his signature wit. The iconic Bee Gees track “Tragedy” plays in the background as the perfect soundtrack for this unforgettable scene.

Thirty-six years after the incidents of the initial film, the Deetz family goes back to Winter River due to Charles Deetz’s sudden demise. Lydia’s world is shaken when her defiant teenager, Astrid, stumbles upon a secret model of the town in their attic and unintentionally opens a gateway to the Afterlife, freeing Betelgeuse.

Tim Burton, the filmmaker behind Sleepy Hollow and Edward Scissorhands, helms Beetlejuice with a screenplay penned by Miles Millar, Alfred Gough, and Seth Grahame-Smith. Starring once again are Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara, who originally brought their characters to life. Joining the new cast members are Jenna Ortega (known for Wednesday), Justin Theroux (Mulholland Drive), Monica Bellucci (Dracula), Willem Dafoe (Poor Things), Arthur Conti, Danny DeVito (Batman Returns), and Burn Gorman (Pacific Rim).

The long-awaited film “Beetlejuice,” produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, is scheduled for release in cinemas on September 6, 2024.
