New Alien vs. Predator Movie ‘Probably’ Coming, Won’t Be What Fans Think

As a long-time fan who has seen both the Alien and Predator franchises evolve over the years, hearing about the potential for a new Alien vs. Predator movie has me absolutely thrilled! The idea of these two iconic creatures clashing on the silver screen is a dream come true, and I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as I recall the excitement of the original 2004 film.

In recent times, both the Alien and Predator series have welcomed fresh installments. As per the words of Steve Asbell, President of 20th Century Studios, a potential face-off between these two titans, that is, a new Alien vs. Predator film, appears to be on the horizon.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Asbell hinted at the possibility of a future AVP film, stating that it’s likely we’ll eventually get one. However, he clarified that it won’t follow fans’ expectations and won’t be rushed into production like simply “pumping it out.

What do we know about a new Alien vs. Predator movie?

Asbell explained, “It’s not what you might expect. Here’s the twist. It won’t be a simple Alien vs. Predator or a replica of the original films. Instead, if we proceed, these stories will naturally evolve from the franchises we’ve been nurturing, featuring characters we care about deeply. They may even interact…possibly. But we’re not there yet. And we won’t rush this process.

In addition to announcing a new Alien vs. Predator film, Asbell unveiled some unexpected details. For instance, there are actually two upcoming Predator movies being developed. Moreover, he shared updates about the progress of an Alien: Romulus sequel, which is also in the pipeline.

First released in 2004, “Alien vs. Predator” was helmed by director Paul W.S. Anderson. The cast included Sanaa Lathan, Raoul Bova, Lance Henriksen, Ewen Bremner, Colin Salmon, and Tommy Flanagan. As its name implies, the film primarily revolves around a confrontation between Aliens and Predators. Despite mostly unfavorable reviews, it managed to gross $177.4 million globally at the box office.
