The thought of exploring new realms of this captivating universe is nothing short of exhilarating!
Netflix is producing an anime adaptation of the series “The Witcher“. A sneak peek, launch date, as well as some casting details and storylines have been revealed to us.
The Witcher Anime: Release Date
The debut trailer for “Sirens of the Deep” revealed it’s set to run for a duration of two hours and ten minutes, with its release scheduled on February 11, 2025.
In the trailer, Geralt and Dandelion engage in a discussion that subtly references a female character named Essi, alluding to the original storyline from “A Small Sacrifice.
The Witcher Anime: Cast
According to the trailer, it’s confirmed that Doug Cockle, known for voicing Geralt of Rivia in the games, is set to reprise his role as Geralt. Similarly, Joey Batey, who portrayed Dandelion in the Netflix live-action series, will lend his voice to him in the upcoming anime.
We don’t yet know of any other cast members.
The Witcher Anime: Plot
Following the title’s hint, our cherished monster slayer is set to venture into the ocean depths. Moreover, as producer Tomek Baginski has hinted earlier, the narrative will be derived from one of the original novels.
We’re nearly positive that the upcoming anime is adapted from a short story titled “‘A Little Sacrifice’“, found within a novel.
In this brief tale, Geralt is tasked with locating the maritime monster responsible for a gruesome slaughter at sea; a fiend who annihilated an entire ship crew. As he embarks on his pursuit, he initially struggles to trace the vessel, but eventually leads him to the submerged city of Ys.
In a dilemma, our beloved Witcher navigates between the enigmatic sea-folk of Ys, who are often misjudged, and the apprehensive human settlement on the coastline.
