A full year has passed since Netflix began working on a revival of the popular teen drama “One Tree Hill,” initially aired by The CW. Now, we’re privy to some news about where the project stands, with one of the original cast members hinting at their involvement in the reboot.
What was Sophia Bush’s One Tree Hill sequel update?
In a recent conversation with ComingSoon, Sophia Bush – known for her portrayal of Brooke Davis in One Tree Hill – offered some encouraging news about the progress of the reboot. She hinted that there’s still quite a journey ahead before the project reaches production, but reassured fans that things are moving smoothly during development.
Bush mentioned that people are finally grasping the lengthy and challenging nature of the development phase. He finds filming to be the most enjoyable aspect, although he admits that the pre-production stage can be tricky. He’s optimistic about how things are progressing in development; we’ll have to wait and see where it takes us.
1 Tree Hill was developed by its showrunner Mark Schwahn and aired from 2003-2012, spanning nine seasons. The initial ensemble included Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Hilarie Burton, Jensen Ackles, Sophia Bush (who later left), Bethany Joy Galeotti, Paul Johansson, Barry Corbin, Craig Sheffer, and Moira Kelly. In the upcoming reboot, Burton and Ackles are not only serving as executive producers but are also in talks to return as Peyton Sawyer and Rachel Gatina respectively.
The central theme of the original series revolved around the lives and relationships of a collection of characters situated in the imaginary town of Tree Hill, North Carolina. Their narrative started during their high school years but progressed to depict their adult lives post-college. The show incorporated several leaps forward in time, with the later seasons focusing on the characters’ lives after they had completed their college education.
