As a devoted fan, let me share my excitement about the gripping Korean film “Mission: Cross.” The narrative kicks off by presenting the central duo of the tale – Kang-Moo (played by Hwang Jung-Min) and his wife, Kang Mi-Seon (portrayed by Yum Jung-Ah). This couple, despite their contrasting personalities, forms the heart of this story. Kang-Moo, my dear husband, is a doting house husband who showers care upon not only me but also my colleagues. On the other hand, Mi-Seon, my wife, is a tough and formidable police detective, excelling in her profession. However, she remains clueless about her husband’s previous line of work.
The movie unveils that Kang-Moo once served as an elite undercover operative in a specialized unit. He headed a group tackling dangerous assignments. Unfortunately, during a covert operation, one of his comrades lost their life. This event led to Kang-Moo being relieved of duty. Since then, he’s been maintaining a low profile, concealing his past occupation as a secret agent, living an ordinary life.
In the near future, the character Kang-Moo, once an agent, steps back into his prior existence in Mission: Cross. His task at hand becomes a perilous one as he endeavors to rescue another former comrade who has mysteriously vanished. The events unfold when Kang-Moo encounters one of his old associates, Jang Hee-Ju (played by Jeon Hye-Jin). She shares the distressing news that her spouse, Kim Jung-San (Kim Joo-Hun), a former colleague of Kang-Moo’s, is missing. This disappearance coincides with a covert operation involving influential figures and an enormous sum of illicit funds. To make matters more personal, she discloses that she carries Kang-Moo’s unborn child.
In that instant, Kang-Moo chooses to aid her in a perilous undertaking aimed at rescuing Kim Jung-San. He conceals this venture from his spouse as well.

As Mission: Cross draws to a close, viewers witness Kang Mi-Seon suspecting an infidelity between her husband Kang-Moo and Jang Hee-Ju, after spotting them together at a hotel. Upon further investigation by following them, she uncovers that Kang-Moo was actually engaged in a covert operation to save a man from a person called Park.
In the interim, Kang-Moo employs her keen abilities and tactics to effectively rescue Kim Jung-San. Afterward, he transports him to a prearranged location for their encounter with Jang Hee-Ju. Unfortunately, in an unexpected plot twist, it is disclosed that Jang Hee-Ju is actually Park, the mastermind behind the corruption scandal. She orchestrated this situation to trick Kang-Moo into saving Jung-Sun, all to gather valuable information that would allow her to seize a vast sum of money.
Following the revelation at Mission: Cross’s conclusion, Kang-Moo and Kang Mi-Seon form an alliance. Together, they embark on a thrilling journey aimed at capturing Hee-Ju, also known as Park. After overcoming numerous trials, they successfully apprehend Park and recover the cash. They then deliver the funds to the authorities and submit themselves peacefully for questioning.
Towards the finale, the Korean action-comedy movie skips over several months following their arrest. In these scenes, they’re questioning someone linked to a drug case. It seems that they have formed an alliance and are now collaborating, which leaves the film ending on a very fulfilling and captivating cliffhanger.
