However, the opening scene, where a golf ball striking Happy’s wife, Virginia (portrayed by Julie Bowen), and causing her immediate death, seems questionable given its dark and grim nature. It’s puzzling how such an event, involving loss of life and significant financial implications, could be perceived as humorous, especially considering the screenwriters, one being Adam Sandler, were responsible for this creative decision.
