Netflix Movie Review: Happy Gilmore 2

In a twist, the follow-up to the 1996 film “Happy Gilmore” is now streaming on Netflix, maintaining its comedic tone as before. However, the opening scene, where a golf ball striking Happy’s wife, Virginia (portrayed by Julie Bowen), and causing her immediate death, seems questionable given its dark and grim nature. It’s puzzling how such an event, involving loss of life and significant financial implications, could be perceived as humorous, especially considering the screenwriters, one being Adam Sandler, were responsible for this creative decision. One can only wonder what their thought process was.
