The acclaimed South Korean drama “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” debuted on August 1, 2022, and is now available for streaming on Netflix. The series centers around the character Yoo Se-Poong, portrayed by Kim Min-Jae, who is renowned for his skills as a healer. However, his expulsion from the royal court follows revelations of his involvement in a plot against the royal family. In a rural village, he encounters Doctor Kye Ji-Han (Kim Sang-Kyung), whose influence significantly alters Seo Eun-Woo’s (Kim Hyang-Gi) life, who is a villager and widow.
Gyeongseong Creature Part 2
Looking forward to it, Gyeongseong Creature Part 2 is set to debut on Netflix on September 27, 2024. Following the tremendous success of Part 1, released last year, viewers have been excitedly anticipating this sequel. The narrative will unfold in contemporary Korea and focus on the story of Chae-Ok (played by Han So-Hee) and her encounter with Ho-Jae (portrayed by Park Seo-Joon) in a new world. Additionally, Bae Hyeon-Seong and Lee Moo-Saeng will be joining the cast for this series.
Officer Black Belt
In a notable casting move, actor Kim Woo-Bin is set to star in the upcoming Netflix release titled “Officer Black Belt.” This action comedy film is slated to debut on September 13, 2024. The story revolves around Lee Jung-Do (portrayed by Woo-Bin), a martial arts officer, who teams up with probation officer Kim Sun-Min (played by Kim Sung-Kyun). Their mission? To prevent crimes from happening by monitoring individuals wearing electronic anklets. Spanning 107 minutes, the movie promises action, suspense, and entertainment for viewers.
Culinary Class Wars
Debuting on Netflix on September 17, 2024, is their first Korean culinary reality show titled “Culinary Class Wars.” This exciting series brings together 100 skilled chefs who compete fiercely in a culinary contest. The competitors include both seasoned pros, known as the ‘black spoons,’ and up-and-coming stars, or ‘white spoons.’ In this battle of taste, renowned chefs Paik Jong-Won and Anh Sung-Jae from the three-starred Mosu Seoul restaurant will be the judges. Simultaneously, in the TV show “Romance in the House,” an estranged couple’s story unfolds. The man, now a millionaire, decides to reconnect with his family. Whilst his brother supports this family reunion, his sister vehemently opposes it due to her strained relationship with their father and the emotional trauma she experienced watching their mother suffer because of his past struggles.
